Writer’s Life: 20th Sale plus Armadillos!

This past weekend I made my 20th short story/poem sale! I sold my story “Winning Streak” to Daily Science Fiction. This was a story I wrote for my father last Christmas. The same character appears in another story of mine that’s still in need of editing, but I hope that one will sell just as quickly.

In other news, I’ve completed a new short story. Started it Sunday night, finished it Monday, and revised and sent it out today. It’s one of my favorites so far, based on several word prompts: Liver, Slaughter, Hairless, Mechanical Failures, and Birds of Prey. Some of the words weigh more heavily in the piece than others, but they all helped me to craft the story.

Lastly, there’s just three more days until ArmadilloCon! It’s the best Con I’ve ever been to. Yes, it’s the only Con I’ve ever been to, but the people are friendly, the panels are engaging, and there’s books to buy! Plus this is my third year attending, so I’ll know a lot of faces.

I’ve got the rest of the week off, so hopefully I’ll get some more writing in, and maybe a review or two before the month is out. Lot’s going on!
