NaNoWriMo, I’m ready for you!
I’ve already got another novel in the works, which I’m hoping to get drafted by the end of October. So I was thinking about giving long form a little break and working on some short stories for NaNoWriMo. Today, I got the idea to do 20 stories based on the same character, each with one of the 20 Master Plots. I should be done with my Master Plot reviews by then also, so I’ll have a bunch of example material to refer to if I get stuck.
In a perfect world, these 20 stories will fit together in some overarching way, but I won’t worry about that just yet. In fact, I probably won’t put much more thought into this until October 31st, but I’m thinking space opera! Or maybe some rich fantasy world! Lots of possibilities.
Love it. I would like to do something similar. All year I’ve been thinking how can I write short stories for NaNoWriMo!
Sounds great! I hope that having a way to tie the stories together will stop them from becoming an insane trip into my inner psyche. (Like my Story a Day in May attempt.) Some of those things are best left buried. 🙂
